Hello, everyone - Mom here. The pups have let me have an evening on the ol' laptop for a change. I am here because, well, I have a problem and I need to get this off of my conscience.
Hello, my name is Denise and I am a project starter. Esp when it comes to knitting & crocheting. See, here is the evidence.

First is a crocheted skirt that is about 50% done. The pattern originally called for many colors, but I am a goth girl at heart. It has copious amounts of dog hair included. They enjoy being part of the process.

Next, there is the yoga sweater in ecru glossy yarn that is really soft. It is knitted from one side to the other. So, here you see one sleeve and the beginning of the one side, front & back.
So, here I was going on & on about knitting & crocheting and it occurred to me that I've never made anything for anyone else. I had promised myself in the past that I'd never do anything for a deadline. I really freaked myself out on that for my wedding.
A friend is having her second boy any day now. So, I've to make blankets for both boys. These are not baby blankets. They are boy blankets they will be able to use as they grow up. The same pattern, but different colors. It was hard coming up with colors. Mom said that Liam has periwinkle colored stuff already and she has always liked blues & purples. Then I saw the soft green & purple water colored yarn that goes so well, and dad has always been an earthy guy. So, the yarn store made up my mind for me.
Oh, yea, the small gray piece is the beginning of a baby bootie. Just cuz I wanna try them. I am determined to finish all of these projects before I begin anything else damnit! But I'd like to make xmas presents too. sigh
Help me to be strong. I have a problem. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem. So, I did it. Now, I'd better get to work finishing one of these. Thanks for listening. The dogs will be back soon, I promise.

I'm glad your pups let you on the keyboard tonight! Nice work - I can't wait to see the FOs. I have a scarf and 1.5 socks that I need to finish up, but I'm itching to cast on a tank top! I. Must. Resist.

Oh, I cannot wait to see what torment you put those pets of yours thru on Knitted Furmiliation!

Mom says she knows you finished a project. You made those spiffy begging vests for the dogs to wear at Meet and Greets. Remember Meeka modeling one? He thought people were giving him money to cast their gaze upon his handsomeness. HARROOORROOOROO!

ah, yes, the vests. I almost did get those done either. I finished them when I had pnuemonia. and they were sewn, so it didn't take too very long.
And who wouldn't give money to look and bewootiful huskies? Esp you & Meeka

ahhh... we all have projects we haven't finished. I will take this moment to confess my not finishing my ARCB reflexology documentation. perhaps we can make a pact and support each other to complete our projects :)

PS no rush on the blankies but I am dying to see the booties :)

I have heard a rumor that if you keep your project out in plain sight, you'll be motivated to complete it.

Apparently this advice does not work in our house since we have 15 boxes of hardwood floor that have been "acclimating" in our family room for 3 years.

Maybe Tasha and Eva's advice works better if it is given to someone. so, they gave it to you so.. someone needs to give the advice to T&E's mom so she can lay the hardwood floors, ha roo!

We all share the c'puter with our people... after all, they do have thumbs.

I admit it, Dad has a problem. He's a project starter too. Wow. I feel so much better that I got that off my chest.

Dad, can you finish at least one major project so we can go on a trip, drive, or at least a nice walk along the water?

I feel ya, honey. I always have a really bad case of startitis going at any time. But I finished a blankie, and I am going great guns on a shrug, so we'll encourage each other. You can do it!!
