Big Pack at the Dog Park

Hi, everyone! It's me - Genny! Boy, oh, boy, did we have a great morning at the dog park! The weather today was just perfect. We met a whole bunch of new friends there today, including a big bewootiful GSD named Dozer - boy is he a handsome fella! He had with him a GSD mix brother named Max who loved to play and play!

Here we all are just runnin and playin and havin a good ol' time.

Isn't Dozer handsome??? I think I'm gonna swoon!
We hope that you all have a really great holiday weekend. We're gonna just hang out and enjoy the cooler weather. Maybe we'll talk mom & dad into another trip to the dog park again tomorrow.
See ya later!

Slumber Party Shenanigans

Haroo everypup. It's me- Shiloh! We had a slumber party last night. Genny was particularly excited about this as our guest was a very handsome boy that's about her age named Sarge. He's the red & white husky in the photo here with me. I am giving him the rules of the house here, because I am the man in charge. Not sure he likes what I'm saying though.

Here's a shot of Sarge and Genny playing in the backyard. Sarge is a real fun loving guy and he even got Daisy up and bouncing.

We had a really fun time with Sarge. His only issue at our house was that he was afraid of the stairs going up to the bedrooms. He also didn't like the room we gave him (Daisy's crate), so mom & dad let him sleep with them - they mumbled something about trying to get some sleep. Don't they know that you're not really supposed to sleep at a slumber party?

Anyroo, We had a great time and hope that Sarge comes back to play another time.

Until next time, Roo,
Shiloh

New Friends & a Slumber Party

Hi everyone - it's me, Genny! We met some new friends at the dog park this weekend. This Akita pup is fun to play with. And here Daisy and I are checking out this cute little poodle mix.

This big GSD is named Cisco and he's so calm and laid back. You'd never know he's only 2 years old. The black lab here is getting a good scratch in a favorite spot by my daddy. You can tell he really likes it. Shiloh was doing a good job of being a lone wolf, so he missed getting his picture taken.
Guess what??? We're gonna have a sleepover guest tonight! Sarge, from MaPaw, is coming up out way to visit Harleysville Vet tomorrow, so he's gonna spend the night with us. Won't that be fun???? Mom says she promises to take pictures. Cool, a Slumber Party!!!!

Sunday in the Dog Park

Sunday in the dog park with a whole pack of new friends. We met a burmese, a cattle dog, a pug and even another husky! It was finally cool enough to go outside and spend some quality time in the woods sniffin, and snortin. What fun!

Just Chillin in Front of the Tube

Hi, everypup! Shiloh here. We've been not doing too much lately - it's been waaaay too hot for huskies to be too active. So, here we are - Genny and I, taking in some tube time, just chillin in front of the air conditioner.

How do all of you keep cool? Mom and dad keep the air on for us and give us ice cubes to munch.

We haven't been to the dog park much lately either - way too hot. But we got to go on Sunday morning when the weather finally broke and things cooled off a bit. Here's a pic of Daisy chillin by the watering hole. She really likes going to the dog park - can't you tell by the big smile on her face?

I hope all of you have good ways to keep cool during these dog days of summer. Keep chillin, my friends!
Roo,
Shiloh

Good sniffs at the dog park

Hello everyone. Miss Daisy here. We've been taking a lot of trips to the dog park lately, especially on weekend mornings when it's the coolest. Here I am checking the latest news from all of the other dogs that have visited.

I like this dog park a lot. It has a lot of shade trees and easy places for us more mature ladies to walk. But it's also big enough for the young whipper-snappers to run and get the wildness out of their system.

Other times I take it easy at the Stoutino Inn in the air-conditioning. When I'm not lounging, I am keeping Shiloh & Genny in-line. They get pretty rough around me, so I tell them to knock it off or take it somewhere else. I also make sure that I tell foster mom or dad when it's time to eat. I am very good at telling time. I also make sure that they get up at a reasonable time in the morning. If it weren't for me, they'd be really lazy and sleep in.

I like to follow foster mom around the house. Lately she's spent a lot of time in her quilting studio. She really likes that fabric! I haven't figured out what job I can help her with yet, but I'm sure to think of something soon.

Until next time, RUFF!

Daisy

Sweet Miss Daisy

Sweet Miss Daisy in her favorite activity - sleeping at mommy's feet and snoring softly. She likes to keep mom company where ever she goes in the house. All mom needs to do is look down and she'll find Daisy right there. Daisy is one of the sweetest dogs ever. We're glad she's hanging out with us.

Dog Park kind of day

Haroo, puppers. It's Shiloh here. We were having one of those days on Saturday - you know the kind where you try your best to be good, but just been cooped up too long with all of the rain and such? Well, after that kind of day, Mom & Dad decided that a visit to the dog park was in order on Sunday morning before it got too hot.

Genny was especially excited - she'd only been to the park a couple of times before and really likes to chase all of the puppers we meet there. Here she is telling me all about her last run.

Here is Genny talking to a new friend and asking if it's okay if she plays with her. Genny is very polite that way.

Here I am leading us on an exercise run - gotta keep in shape to impress the ladies!

Here's Daisy - she was there too! She likes following the slower folks, like mom & dad.

It was a bewootiful day, but then it turned pretty hot - too hot for huskies - so mom said it was time for us to go home in the shade. I agree that we shouldn't overdo the heat.
See roo next time, puppers!
Haroo,
Shiloh

Adventure!

Hi everypup! It's Genny! We went on the most awesome trip with mom this morning. We went on an adventure hike!

Mom apologizes for the quality of this photo - she mumbled something about 2 pulling husky types on the leashes.

Come with us! We were at Green Lane Park.

We followed the trees with blue markers on them. It was a hard trail, so we helped mom a lot by keeping her going. Shiloh marked the trail his special way, just in case.

Then we rested by the pretty Perkiomen Creek and got a drink of water from mom's pack. Got to stay hydrated!

Shiloh said he was getting tired, so after a while we turned around and found the car again. Mom said I was a good girl on our first hiking adventure, even though I wanted to run after the deer we saw. They were so pretty! She said we'll do it again sometime soon when dad can come along with us.

Thanks for sharing our adventure!

Love & kisses,

Genny

Dog park for Daisy

Haroo, Everyone! Shiloh here. We had a very nice weekend. Mom brought Daisy into our house on Friday. She's a very nice older grrl who just hangs and doesn't bother anyone too much. She likes one of our crates and hangs out there a lot. We thought we needed to get her out and moving.

So, here we are at the dog park. Everyone had a really good time sniffing and snoofing and running around with the other puppies. A Sibe/Sheba mix named Sparky was there. Sparky and Genny really mixed it up! I was busy marking my domain, keeping up my personae as the Lone Wolf.

Genny also likes to play fetch - can you believe it? A nice lady kept throwing the ball for her and she'd just bring it back and ask her to throw it again and again. Grrls, go figure.

Anyroo, here's to a great week!
Haroo!

Shiloh, the Lone Wolf

Oh, the Carnage!

Why we owe MaPaw one orthopedic dog bed, thanks to Shiloh "Shredderman" Stout.

New foster, Daisy

Meet Daisy, our newest foster at the Inn. She is 14 years young and a very good girl so far. She just came to the Inn tonight, so we''ll have to see how she tolerates the young whipper snappers always wrestling around her. She is supposed to be a sibe/gsd mix, but who knows?

3/16/10

Genny Settles Inn

Well, it's been a few weeks now and we cannot imagine what life could be like without her. Genny is settling in very nicely here at the Inn. She's even taken to using the pomegranate couches, both upstairs and downstairs, as her own personal beds. Genny loves to play with toys and wants to fetch constantly - so we know she's definitely not all husky!

Things have been very good, except that Genny came down with a major upper respiratory infection. So, antibiotics are in order for her to get better - with loads of peanut butter to get them down. She's feeling much better now, but she had us scared there for a bit. Always a new adventure, these doggies!

The vet thinks she's about a year old or so and very healthy other than the upper respiratory thing. She's also very smart and knows lots of commands already. She will start obedience school once she gets better. Who knows, maybe some therapy work will be in her future? She is certainly friendly enough and cares very much about the human happenings around her.

Sorry for the lack of pictures. I must admit it's my own darned fault. Never have the camera ready when I need it! Bad mom! I vow to try an do better in the near future, but I thought I had better get a post in here to keep you all interested.

Until next time,
Mom

SHE'S A KEEPER!

WE'RE GOING TO ADOPT GENNY! Daddy said we can this morning. Isn't that just terrific???? I have a new baby sister. I'm so excited. Welcome Genny!

Snow Pictures

Looks like fun doesn't it? Roo! Shiloh and Genny love to wrestle and snow makes it even better. Yes, we settled on Genny for her name since she responds so well to it. She and Shiloh are about the same size, so the wrestling matches come out about even.

New Girl in da house!

Well, this is the new girl. She doesn't have a name yet, but we are thinking hard for a good one. Does she remind you of anyone?

Guinness

Today is a very sad day at the Stoutino Inn. Today is the day we help our Guinness Grrl to the Rainbow Bridge. It seems like only yesterday we brought home a sweet and darling puppy - it was in fact 10 years ago. This is a photo of her first day at our house with her new daddy. She came to help him celebrate his birthday. And what a joy she was! She stole everyone's heart! She did have a rough start. She had a battle with demodex mange that almost took her from us so very early. But she battled through like a trooper and never gave up.

She's been a trooper though this latest battle with DM as well. But her legs cannot support her any longer and we feel it is time to help her run free at the Bridge.

This is the way we choose to remember her. Our sweet and tough Guinness Grrrl. Please say a prayer to help her on her way. We know that her big brother, General, will be waiting at the Bridge to greet her, along with our former fosters, Dunkin, Buster and Bacci.

We will miss her very much and we know that all of our friends are there for all of us.
Run free sweet Grrl. We love you.

Catchin up with old pictures

Haroo puppers! Guinness here, with some older pictures we've been meaning to catch up on. Below is one of Shiloh and I supervising mom as she bastes one of her quilts.

This is one of Shiloh from the dog park having fun in all of the recent snow. This is mom - she's been a little bored with herself lately so she colored her fur funny colors. Doesn't she look silly?

We've been having fun in the snow and lounging about a lot lately, so not much is happening here. I am predicting more snow coming this next week and the TV reporters agree with me, so we'll see what happens.
Until then, Happy Valentine's day to my Darling Pippa
Love and Snoses to everypup,
Guinness

My view

Whatcha doin' Mommy? Quilting again?

2/7/10

Buster

It is with a sad heart that we learned that our former foster, Buster, has passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. He was a pretty sick pup at the end and his fur-ever family did everything they could for him. He was only with them a very short while, but we know that Buster was very happy with his family. Please say a prayer to send him on his way to the Bridge.

Snow day!

Helloo puppers! Boy did we get some snow! Over a whole foot of the fluffy stuff. I am in husky heaven! It's up to my belly!
I am almost invisible in the white stuff - can you see me?? Hee hee
Mommy is happy because she didn't have to go into work today. I foresee a lot of quilting happening here today.
Daddy is happy, sleeping in.
Even gimpy Guinness has a spring in her step this morning. I've been bouncing and romping enough to make her a good path so she can come out and play too. She really loves the fluffy stuff too and wants to romp and play with me.

Hope you have a happy day too!
Roo,
Shiloh
