Randomness

Sasha tagged us to say 7 random things about ourselves:

1. We are a mixed up group. Guinness is a full GSD; Shiloh is a full Husky; Misty is a mix of the 2. General may have been a mix, we don't know. Pax, mommy's first puppydog, was also a mix. This is his baby picture.

2. Daddy never had either breed growing up. He had Springer Spanials, a St. Bernard and a raccoon named Rocky (golly, that's as bad as Spot or Fido for us, eh?)

3. Guinness is the only pup we raised here from a baby. She's the only one with leash aggression. Guess we did something wrong in there somewhere.

4. We seem to attract all white dogs to our house lately. Guinness is gettin concerned we might trade her in cuz she's the wrong color.

5. Guinness is the only one who can properly howl or woo. All of the others sound like wounded baby harp seals. Mom wants to make a video of this sometime as soon as she figures out how & with what.

6. Cosmos was our first ever foster. Everyone at MaPaw said this was our trial by fire - or rather trial with irritable bowels. General had this too. He was allergic to commercial dog foods and made us switch to raw feeders.

7. Guinness was 50% bald from Demodex once upon a time. Shiloh is glad she has her pretty furs back and glad she's is her own doggy & not being a copycat like Jake & Misty.

Some approval and dissapproval

Hello Everypuppy. Mommy is a little sad tonight. We found a nest of baby bunnies. We tried playing with the bunnies. Two stopped playing back. Mom knows we were just being huskies, but it made her sad for da bunnies. They were very cute. Dad's tryin to see if there are any more babies and move them to a safer place. They were inside our mint patch - a perfect bunny place, really - but not wiff 3 great hunters around. Silly bunny parents for pickin our yard. Mom wants the Disapproving Rabbits to please not become even more disapproving because we are very sorry.
We do have happy news! The Army of Four is making us fellow troopers! Yea! Mommy is tryin to find Zim's mom's email, but not finding much success? It's a good thing it is Friday and she can sleep in a little tomorrow - or will she?

Check out Cosmos' new blog!

Roo Everypuppy! Our foster bro, Cosmos, and his fur-ever family now have a blog. It talks about him, his family's horsies, and their soon to be new puppy! Please visit our friends: Woos and Neighs from the Mullen Clan

Bees knees & silly squirrrrrrls

The Army of Four has been talkin all about bees & their knees. and they have talked about the evil creatures known as squirrrrrrrrls. Mommy found these really cool doggie toys for them at Amazon: Hide a Squirrrrl and Hide a Bee. Now, if our mommies really loved us, they'd get us a bunch of these so we can look for knees and hunt those evil squirrrrrrls even when it's raining outside!

Crafty undies

Yep, Mom is in a crafty mood today. Actually, I'm researching stuff for a program at the library. We're taking old t-shirts and jeans and altering them into useful stuff. I came across this very ubercool website where this person uses old t-shirts and makes funky underwear from them! I have got to try this sometime.

Knitting

Mom here: Saw a great episode of Knitty Gritty this morning. Author of the Domiknitrix book showed how to make a devil snowcap that was really cool. discovered the website and thought she was my kind of woman. Check out her links page for great links, including a few naughty ones :)

Mom is getting crazy

Mom keeps playin wiff our blog. Somethin just isn't right about how it looks to her yet. So, she keeps playin.

Tomorrow is Monday, but Shiloh is depressed cuz school is over for a while. Mom & Dad are gonna hafta find ways to keep him up to snuff on his training and keep him & Misty occupied. We have all been goin for walks around the neighborhood lately - this is something new for us, cuz walkin 3 doggies for 2 humans ain't easy. We have our own sled team! Dad calls our team his roasted marshmallows or s'mores. Shiloh is a fresh marshmallow, Misty is toasted, and Guinness is graham cracker, chocolate or burnt marshmallow. (those s'more things sound really good, don't they?) We line up in from of M&D and pull them along - not what we were trained to do at school - but we aren't at school, are we? Besides, M&D always forget the treat bag! They expect us to perform without hot dogs? We don't think so.

Barbarian Librarian

Watch out, everypuppy. Mommy is really mad! Mommy wants Maxi-moose to come stay at our house with us, but daddy says we have enough doggies right now.
I have a feeling it's gonna be chilly at our house for a while. Better warm up that kisser, Misty. Daddy's gonna need 'em.

Drawing

Sitka's mommy asked if our mommy would post a bigger version of our new favicon, so here it is. Mommy did some drawings for our kissmiss card last year. She's does drawings of all of her puppies for fun. She puts them into a silly newsletter she sends with the kissmiss cards to tell everypuppy what we've been up to. Who knows what will end up in there this year. She's been bloggin so much, she may not have anything left!

Wik-kid thunderstorms last night! We thought we'd be whisked away to Kansas to visit Toto. Shiloh isn't bothered by Thunderstorms, but Guinness and Misty were shakin. Guinness needed to snuggle in bed with mom & dad and poor Misty just hid in her crate all night. But the birdies are singin this morning, so we think it's all over now.

Can I kiss you too?

Cosmos Update

Here's an update from our former foster brother Cosmos. We think they gave him something - he was never this calm! He looks so serene and relaxed.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi everypup! Today is daddy's day, so we thought we'd share some loving moments wif our daddy.

We thought our kitty friend Tia would appreciate a pic of our daddy snuggling with our long lost puddin, Scottie.

These pics are daddy wif our long lost brother, General. General, mom & dad were hikin in the Grand Caynon of PA here. General liked to go hikin and swimmin - he even went on mom & dad's honeymoon wif them. They hiked over 20 miles in Shenandoah. General was a real snuggle buddy and like to help daddy appreciate his ice cream.

The next pic is daddy & me, Guinness, on my very first day at our house.
Aren't I da cutest?
Daddy's are awesome! We were sure ours was up bright and early this morning so our daddy could get as much out of his special day as he wanted. We recovered from that while he and mom took grandpup out to lunch. Now we have to be sure to help him get ready for a job interview tomorrow. That means up bright and early and make sure his clothes have just the right amount of our fur on them - hee hee

Misty is not only good at wakin daddy up, but also helpin daddy chill out and relax. We have to get some more pics of Shiloh & Daddy, but you saw the one we have in our last post.

We luv roo daddy! WOO!

Weekend? Goldfish?

Hi, everypuppy. Guinness here. I had to help da huskies this mornin to wake up da mommy. It was getting light outside and she still wasn't up. She and daddy always get up then. They even have a noisy thing they use to help them. Why, I do not know - they have us! We are the very best waker-uppers. First, I put my paw up on the bed subtly to get started. Then, I nudge mommy or daddy with my wet and pointy nose. If that doesn't work, I will gently kiss them. Now, Misty, she's not subtle. She jumps on da bed and goes straight for the face or ears and kisses away! We all get in on things then, even Shiloh.

It finally worked, cuz mommy got up. I think she was growling a little on her way to the back door. But we had our romp and our breakfast and mommy had her fresh pot of coffee, so I know we did something good. Mommy is always better after she drinks that. She's not growling quite as much now. She sure drinks a lot of that stuff. Jake used to help her drink it too, but mommy said that it was definitely not for huskies.

We do a great job, but I think our friends Codey and Dawkin may have even Misty beat on the morning energy thing.

Daddy keeps mumbling this word: Goldfish. He says we could have had nice Goldfish and Goldfish know what a weekend is. What are those? Oh, that's nice. Mommy found a picture. Pretty.

The huskies are now helping mommy & daddy to stay awake and be productive by noisily wrestling. I'll let them do that job. I'm a lady, and ladies just don't do that sort of thing. I only interject when I think things are gettin out of hand. As the Queen here, it is my job to be sure that all da huskies know their place and that mommy and daddy are awake and aware. Daddy is still in bed, I'd better go help and make sure they do this right. We're burnin daylight here!

Favitar Success!

Thanks a bunch to Sitka & Tia's Mom for helping our Mom thru the evil jungle of favitar. Now we have one too! It's so small that you can't tell that its us, but we are there - really!

Silly Mommy

I love my good citizen!

hmmm, maybe we need to start our own charity calendar. We can call it "Old Broads Paws for a Cause."

Interesting happenings from back home

This was seen in the newspaper and it's from where mommy grew up:
Elderly women pose nearly nude for charity calendar. The 2008 calendars will be sold in local stores and on Monongahela's Web site, http://www.cityofmonongahela.com, for $10 a piece.

One proud mommy!

Shiloh is too shy to woof his own howl, but this is one proud mommy! My shy boy, who when he first came to us was terrified of any new person, esp men, passed his Canine Good Citizen test today! He did so very well, even tho I could tell he was nervous. Obedience school has helped him come out of his shell so very much and he loves going there to work and mooch treats from the others doggy ma's and paw's.

One of his school buddies, Fergus the Irish Wolfhound, was there too and he passed his test as well. Fergus had no nerves tho - he's a therapy doggy, so he's used to being round people. Fergus' sister, Caroline, and our poodle friends, Astrid & Tuesday all passed as well. Our trainer, Kathy Manser, will be so proud of all of us! But not as proud as this mommy!
Guinness is jealous of Shiloh's new bling. But we have to face reality, she's just too leash aggressive to pass this test. She even flunked doggie school, twice, cuz she was sooo worried about protecting Mommy from the other doggies, she couldn't settle down. She does know how to do the commands and she's a very smart girl, but she's also very uptight & protective. Sad, really, considering Guinness was not a rescue dog, but one we raised from a puppy.
You can see here that while she's confused, Guinness has forgiven Shiloh. He's too humble to show off.

Meet n Greet Pt 2

Another full day of meetin n greetin. Misty rested her kisser and came back for more! Everyone who met her fell in love with her today and we feel very confident that she will find a good home in no time! Some of the other doggies were kind of wishing Misty would go home early so they could have a chance too - They all got lots of love, so we're not worried.

Jasper is here, showing his good side and his fancy kerchief.

Here Misty & Jasper are showing off for the great elbow and a treat

This cutie is Baby Bear, who is a husky/collie mix at 8 months old. What a cutie!

By the end of the day all of the pups were worn out! I think Misty wore out her kisser too. Here she is nappin wiff Cody.

Bear & Dawkin were worn out too.

It was a good day all around.

The day after

Well, hubby seems to be in pretty good spirits this morning considering. He even let me sleep in and made me breakfast. We had wicked thunderstorms last night - enough to send Misty diving under the bed! She slept there all night, poor thing. I could not sleep for anything until about 2:30 am. It was a beautiful night until the fast moving clouds rolled in. Sometimes the thunder seemed to go on for several minutes. The light show was pretty cool. Last night the breeze even smelled good and reminded me of our camping days and the woods after the rain - all fresh and clean. Maybe that's a sign of good things to come

I am curiously not freaking out. Hubby said he was more worried about my reaction than anything else. I know he'll find something, he always does. He's much to good to pass up.
