Chai Goes to School

Hi!  Chai reporting in today.  Guess what?   I started school!  It was fun!  There were other doggies.   i was the smallest, but I kept up with all of the others.  And there were lots and lots of treats!  Everytime I did what Mommy asked, I got a yummy treat!  That was very easy to do.  We practiced something called Stay.  I was to sit very still and watch Mommy until she said so.  I sat so still.  It was kind of hard, but those treats taste so good!  And Mommy said I was being such a good girl, I wanted to make her proud.

The cool thing is, we get to practice what we have learned every day, so more treats!  I need more practice on the thing called Heel.  I get very confused with all of the other doggies around me.  I will practice, I promise.

We have also started going to the dog park more often.  There are lots of doggies to meet and play with there.  I am usually the smallest there too.  But I keep up!

This is all very excited but it makes me tired too.  So I am going to go to bed.   Tomorrow is another busy day.

Until next time,

Take Your Work to Dog Day

Haroo, everyone!  Genny here.  Today is take your dog to work day.  But our daddy works from home, so he brought the work to us.  It is a bewootiful day, so we are all outside on the patio.  It's hard keeping daddy focused on his work, but. i keep a watchful eye on him.  Using my best shepherd skills, I herd him back to his desk when he gets distracted.  I also herd Chai away from my tennis balls.  She always wants to play with them!  I let her get one once in a while, but she never stops.  Doesn't she understand that we are trying to WORK here?

Until next time, Roo!

Measuring

Hi!  It me, Chai!  Here I am with my daddy and Tiki Ted.  Genny is peeking in too.  We had a nice weekend celebrating  Daddy.  I really love my new daddy.  He plays with me and makes sure I am safe, just what a daddy is for.  He wants to take pictures of me next to Tiki Ted every week or so to see how much I grow over time.  So, Here I am posing like a good girl.  I wonder when I will be taller than Ted.

Until next time, Arf!

Learning

Hi!  It's Chai again.  I am learning all about the Stoutino Inn and about myself too.  Mom took me to see a really nice vet named Dr Ross.  He was so very nice to me - everyone there was nice to me!  They gave me snuggles and cookies and told me how cute I was.  Mom said I was a very good girl.  I weigh 11.7 pounds, but Dr Ross said I was gonna be a very big girl like Genny someday.

We have been taking a lot of walks around the neightborhood.  Mom says that a good puppy is a tired puppy, but I am not sure what she means.  I am good all of the time.   I visit Daddy in his office and help him work.  I put all of the toys and bones all together so they do not get lost.  And I make sure Mom and Dad don't get lonely at night when it is dark and spooky.

Genny and I have been getting along a little better.  We did some zoomies in the back yard today.  What great fun! She will warm up to me one of these days.

Today we had a friend come to visit!  Her name is Isabeau and Genny says they have been friends for a long time.  We had so much fun doing zoomies and exchanging bones and stuff.  I like friends a lot.  Mom says it is very important to make lots of friends. Isabeau says she is going to get a new baby brother or sister like me soon.  I hope we get to play and be friends.

I am all tuckered out, so I will say good night and Arf!

Introducing Chai!

Here I come!
HI!  I'm new here.  My name is Chai - like the tea.  I am only 10 weeks old and brand new at the Stoutino Inn.  My new mommy and daddy said I could talk to you here.  I have only been at the in for a day or so and everything is so very exciting.  There is a big dog named Genny.  She is being nice to me, but she isn't very good at sharing toys.  So I have to be careful not to upset her.  Mom keeps a very close eye on me all of the time, especially around Genny.  I don't know why, but she says that is is important for me not to get into trouble.  But they are very nice here.  I have my own little bones, bowls and crate.

I am a Shepherd mix puppy.  I was born in the south, but my rescue brought me up north for a better life.  I had a brother when mom and dad met me, but he is now in a new home too.

Do you like my slippers and milk moustache?

I have lots of comfy places to snooze and a great big yard to play in.  I think I am going to like it here.  I hope I get to talk to you all often.  This is fun.

Until next time, Arf!

It's been a bit Quiet

Hi, everypup!  I know, it's been really quiet around here.  We have all been missing my dear brother, Shiloh, and we are still adjusting.  But the weather has been pretty terrific and we have been spending a lot of time outside.

Mom and dad put a new patio in our yard.  They really love it out there now.  We even eat out there all of the time - when it's not raining or too buggy.

We have some bird feeders out in the yard.  It is fun because when the birdies come to visit I can run up and talk to them!  They get so excited that they start to fly around!  It is so much fun!  Mom thinks I get them too excited - I don't know why.  She gets a little overly worried, I think.

But even that can get a little boring, so we took an adventure the other day.  We have a bird sanctuary near us.  We took a nice long walk and looked for all of the cool birdies.
Mom says that the little birdies were hiding, but we saw some big ones!  This is a vulture sunning himself.

We had a great day walking around and smelling the wild roses.

Mom has been worried that I am getting lonely now.  I have heard hints that mom and dad are looking for a new brother or sister for me.  I better not get used to the simple life, huh?  Things may get pretty interesting around here...

Until next time, Roo
