The last post got mom to remembering one of her favorite all time books - and it has huskies & librarians in it! She's gotta throw in book stuff once in a while or they kick her out of the librarian club.

Aunt Lulu, by Daniel Pinkwater. Aunt Lulu's nephew tells a tale of his big, strong librarian aunt who once lived in Alaska, where she'd harness up her 14 huskies, yell, "Mush Melvin, Louise, Phoebe, Willie, Norman, Hortense, Bruce, Susie, Charles, Teddie, Neddie, Eddie, Freddie and Sweetie Pie," and set off to deliver a sled full of books to the miners in the wilderness. She gets tired of miners & snow, she she decides to move to New Jersey near her nephew and she brings her dogs with her. She hitches them up to a sled with wheels in the summer & wears silly sunglasses - so do her huskies! Mush!
It's an oldie, but a goodie and a must read for little bi-peds who love huskies & librarians. And who wouldn't love huskies or librarians?

This sounds like such a cute story. My mom wants to read it.
The vehicle tag game was fun. Dad liked your choices.
You asked about where we were moving? Mom and Dad are hoping Green Bay, WI. That's where we are going in October, to house hunt. I hope to have pictures for my doggy friends.
Husky Hugs, MayaMarie
Wow, that's a great place for husky weather. Good luck with the house hunt. Too bad it's not near us, though :(
Oh grrrreat, you had to tell mom about another book, didn't ya? She's already a bookie junkie, her & dad both, but at least this one's about huskoids so she'll have to share it with us! She said tell your mom about the book she found on ebay for little bipeds, Can Dogs Talk by Mary Shields. It's about 2 little bipeds, Rita & Ryan who are arguing about whether or not dogs can talk, so they go talk to Mary who introduces them to her sled team and translates what all the dogs are saying, (and finds a lost puppy in the process). Mary Shields was the first woman to ever complete the Iditarod race, and she's written other books, but this one is our favorite!
Sorry for the long post, but mom insisted we share in case your mom didn't know about this one....
Manykisses,

Thanks, Bama! Mom hadn't heard of that one, so she's gonna be sure to find a copy for her library.
Mayamarie, your parents aren't gonna start walkin round with those funny cheese hats oon their heads are they? hee hee
Girl Girl, mom says thanks for the librarian love ;)
Mistress won't read doggy books in case there are any sad bits in it. But if this is guaranteed not to be sad and has lovely huskies in she might make an exception.

Hi-ya Foster Mommy,
I hope you are feeling a little less sad wif Misty going home wif her furever family. I still wuv ya! Now you have more room to open up your heart & home to another puppy who needs a great foster home. Give my wuv to Guiness & Shiloh.

My boy and girl read books by that author all the time and always enjoyed them. I have a question....do librarians really go around saying "shhhhh!"??
ECHO
We're going to tell our grandma and our aunt about this book! They are both elementary school teachers, so I bet they will like it!
Steve and Kat
It s a very good book with no sad bits at all - our mom doesn't like the dog books with sad parts either.
Echo, mom very rarely says "shhhh." More like, "YO! Quiet down. Watch your language." But when the little kids are good and come to storytime, she sings silly songs about tiny spiders and stuff. The library is not a shh kind of place anymore.
We've tagged you both for a new game, The Nickname Game. (at least we think it's new...) Check our last post for details. We're losing our typist for about a week, so we're trying to wear her fingers out before she goes, whoohoo!
Manykisses,
