Hello all, mom here. The kids have let me on the ol' laptop to show off my new yarn. I went to a really nice yarn store in Skippack, PA today called Yarnings. I went to purchase some extra yummy yarn for my bestest friend's birthday present. She wants to learn how to crochet, so if cashmere yarn and a lovely fancy turned hook don't inspire her, nothing will. Of course, I had to get some of that gorgeous cashmere for myself! I wonder what Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind, would think of this lovely berry red. I haven't decided what I'm making with it yet - I've limited myself to 6 balls, so I don't think it will be large. Am I really ready for such a daring idea - making something with waaaay expensive yarn?On the Right is a very inexpensive yarn that was on sale at the crafts store. It's Caron brand Simply Soft Shadows, which I might try to make a shrug out of.
Oh, yes, in the background are stuffed Peep toys - cute huh?
We were contacted today about our possible next foster. Meet Kashka, a lovely husky mix (not sure what yet). She's 6 yrs old and was turned in by her family because the are moving. She's getting stressed up at the shelter, and who could blame her? If all goes well, she's coming to our house tomorrow or the next day.
So, are we ready for the next foster? You bet. Are you ready for your next grrrlfriend Pippa? As long as Guinness is still in your heart, we're sure you have some room for Kashka too. Kashka is the Russian word for cat. Wonder if the other part of the mix is Akita?

She sure is purrrty! And that yarn is too! Mom particularly likes the Berry colored one. You would have loved our Grammmmmma's needlearts store. She had a whole big wall full of nothin but expensive, bewootiful yarns. It would have been a cat's heaven.

Kashka is a beauty!
Have fun knitting with the cashmere. It's yummy stuff.
She looks lovely. I am always happy to let lots of new girlfriends into my big Pippadog heart. (i haven't forgotten my beautiful Misty though...:( ) And if Guinness is happy for me to have another girlfriend in the same house then that is fine by me. Although I will get upset when she finds her furever home.
Mistress likes the yarn too. She says you can almost touch the softness in the photo. It has such a lovely sheen. She has knitted in cashmere and alpaca (can't crochet) and says it is well worth the effort and the cost.
She might even post a piccy on her blog in a week or two. Not mine. I'm not having silly clothes on my blog.
Pippa xx for Guinness and x for Kashka too - if she wants.
Oh my dogness! She looks just like the annoying one. There's no way there can be two of them out there! AAAHHHH, run far far away, LOL
Woo woo, Kelsey Ann
(just joking with you, she is very cute)
Wowzers! We were going to say she looks like Canyon, too! Don't you think?
Play bows,
Zim
Zim didn't tell me about the yarn! I like that! The red is really nice. Reminds me of really ripe watermelon. Mmm... watermelon!
Have you ever tried bamboo yarn? Grandma was telling Mom about it and said it's SUPER soft. We'd never heard of it!
Luv,
Dave
