This is the place where all are welcomed with open arms, as long as you don't mind a little dog hair

Bloggers United for the Hike
Haroo, Everypuppy! Shiloh & Misty got to meet a bunch of our fellow dog bloggin friends today! What a berootiful morning to go play with some terrific dogs. Here are Alexa, Kelsey Ann, Sasha, Shiloh, Misty and Magnum all lined up and ready for a training run for Hike & Howl. While the bipeds made their plans, we all got to know each other better. Many sniffs, roos, wags, and kisses as well as a couple of wrestling matches were involved.
Here's Misty and her super kisser giving Magnum's mom her special hello.Dante here was a very playful dude.
He wasn't sure about Misty, but they worked things out.

Lexa is a very pretty princess.
Blue is the newest edition to Magnum's house, so we know we will here all about him on the MaPaw blog. He's a great guy who's had a rough beginning.
Misty saw something exciting and took off with mom still attached to her lead. Down went mom!
Shiloh & Misty immediately came to her aid. Shiloh protected her while Misty gave her the kisses of life. Mommy is all better now!
It sure was a great morning & we had a thorough training session. We can't wait for September 1st! Sure hope the weather will be as nice as today.

Hello, everyone - Mom here. The pups have let me have an evening on the ol' laptop for a change. I am here because, well, I have a problem and I need to get this off of my conscience.Hello, my name is Denise and I am a project starter. Esp when it comes to knitting & crocheting. See, here is the evidence.
First is a crocheted skirt that is about 50% done. The pattern originally called for many colors, but I am a goth girl at heart. It has copious amounts of dog hair included. They enjoy being part of the process.
Next, there is the yoga sweater in ecru glossy yarn that is really soft. It is knitted from one side to the other. So, here you see one sleeve and the beginning of the one side, front & back. So, here I was going on & on about knitting & crocheting and it occurred to me that I've never made anything for anyone else. I had promised myself in the past that I'd never do anything for a deadline. I really freaked myself out on that for my wedding.
A friend is having her second boy any day now. So, I've to make blankets for both boys. These are not baby blankets. They are boy blankets they will be able to use as they grow up. The same pattern, but different colors. It was hard coming up with colors. Mom said that Liam has periwinkle colored stuff already and she has always liked blues & purples. Then I saw the soft green & purple water colored yarn that goes so well, and dad has always been an earthy guy. So, the yarn store made up my mind for me.
Oh, yea, the small gray piece is the beginning of a baby bootie. Just cuz I wanna try them. I am determined to finish all of these projects before I begin anything else damnit! But I'd like to make xmas presents too. sigh
Help me to be strong. I have a problem. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem. So, I did it. Now, I'd better get to work finishing one of these. Thanks for listening. The dogs will be back soon, I promise.

Training Wheels and Water
These are Shiloh's new training wheels. We were able to borrow a wheelchair to help ease him into being around them and help train him for therapy dog work. We also procured a walker. Daddy wants to hook up his sled dogs to the wheelchair and have the dogs pull him to the refrigerator for a beer. Silly daddy.
Misty can certainly appreciate boyfriend Pippa's lasted blog posting - it's hot! Here she is cooling her paws in the pool after a training session for the Hike N' Howl. She also enjoys the shade of our dwarf peach tree. This is her best "Misty of the Jungle" picture.

Guinness didn't want the white dogs to get all of the attention, especially when she can show off for Pippa too. Guinness is the best swimmer of the bunch. She doesn't want you all to think she doesn't work hard too. She's just too lady-like to show it on camera.

Tryin to beat the heat
Lots of our blogging friends have been talking bout taking trips to Sonic. We don't have sonics here in SE PA, but we do have Rita's! They have yummy cold stuff called water ice - which is a lot like a slushy, but better. Mom & Dad like Mango flavor, but they have loads of others too. It's especially good mixed with their custard ice cream! Here Guinness & Shiloh are giving Dad their best sit & be good pose to see if he will share some.

And it works! Can you believe he fell for that!
Of course, Misty gets some too. From the picture here, it seems that Shiloh might like some more.Crazy mom and dad went out into the hot, hot heat without us today to go to something called Musikfest and listen to people woo. Mom says it wasn't as hot as she expected it to be and they discovered a couple of bands that they enjoyed: The Arrogant Worms and Zydepunk: New Orleans, Cajun, Klezmer, Breton, Irish, Gypsy Zydeco Music. The Arrogant Worms are really funny and The Zydepunks are pretty cool - even though the description & the accordions may scare off some.
We pups are glad they left us here in the AC. Now, can we have some more of that Water Ice stuff, please?

Dreaming of Exotic Places
The heat and hooomidity has been extremely bad here in PA .

Not good for man nor puppy. We haven't been able to keep up with our husky hike training schedule as much as we would like because of the heat. It does make us think of traveling to exotic places to beat the heat.
Misty is here on the pomegranate couch in the AC dreaming of her boyfriend, Pippa. She's dreaming of a day when she cross the giant water bowl of ocean and get to visit him in Gibraltar.

Can I mom, can I go visit Pippa someday?
Mom says, "Only if I get to come too!" Then she said something about dogs & passports. What's a passport? How do you woo in Spanish?
In the mean time, thanks to those who have stepped up and sponsored us! We have a long way to go. All of the sad story doggies are getting the most the pledges. Shiloh is working on his best woeful eyed husky pose. Misty is going for the direct approach.
"You will pledge today. You will visit me at the hike and help me to win the kissing contest. Look into my bewootiful blue eyes. You cannot resist. Can I kiss you?"

Harooooo at the Moon
It's that time of the month again. They hardly need turn the back yard light on for us in the evening with that big full moon shining down on us. Of course, they do turn on the light and it scares away all of the bunnies. Mom says that she's glad we aren't like the kids at her wrrrrk. They get all weird when there is a full moon and make her cranky. She's says she's glad to have quiet huskies with broken howls, and a mostly quite GSD, so she can come home from wrrrk and rejuvenate. After an evening of freebee toss and a good dinner, with some knitting thrown in, she then likes to curl up on the pomegranate leather sofa with one of us snuggled in her lap and softly stroke our fuzzy ears. She might have a small glass of wine or other soothing beverage too. Why won't she let us have some?Mommy came home late and told us that she got to meet Sasha's mom at the Hike n Howl meeting. We are pretty upset. I mean, first, she leaves us at home. Then she goes and plans stuff without us! Isn't this hike about doggies? We think there should be doggies on the committee!!
Then, we find out that we white doggies are woefully behind everyone in pledges for the hike. Sniff, sniff. Shiloh only has one pledge (Thank Woo! Someone loves me!) and poor Misty has no one. (Hey, I'm cute and give kisses!)
Mom, I think we need a hug.
