Happy Birfday!!!!

 Hi everypup!  It's Chai!  And guess what - it's my birfday!!!!  April 1st is my birfday and I am now 2 whole years old.

Now, since this is only my second birfday, I am kind of new at this still.  So, what is all of this birfday thing all about?  Mommy keeps making me pose for pictures, especially near Tiki Ted.  She did that a lot when I was a little puppy, but I am a big girl now, so shouldn't Mom be over this by now?

I have heard that cake may be involved, is that true?  Cake???  I could handle cake.  I would even share my cake with Genny, maybe.

I wonder what else might happen?  Do you have any suggestions?

Dinner O'clock

Dear friends, Genny here.  I need to ask you a question.  Does you humom make you wait for dinner?  I mean wait and wait and wait?  Mine does.  I know when it is dinner o'clock and I tell her when it is dinner o'clock.  I am very polite about it.  I go up yo her and just look at her.  She knows what I am saying with my eyes, but she says that it is too early.  So, I softly give her my paw.  She says thank you, but it is still too early.  I get a little frustrated, but I still am polite.  I say a soft "roo." Humom smiles and says "roo" back to me, but she still makes me wait.  When it is finally dinner time, it is so exciting!  She makes Chai and I sit before we can dig in.  We are good girls and have good manners, so we sit until humom says okay.  Then it is dinnertime!  It is so hard to wait!

Then comes the long wait until Breakfast O'clock....

So, yea, it has been a while

 Hi, everypup!  It's us, Genny and Chai.  We are really sorry that we haven't posted in a while.  We have to blame Mom.  She has not been taking as many pictures or letting us have any computer time lately. 

Anyway, here are some silly pictures she did take at Christmas time.  This year we had a Mexican theme to our Christmas, which is why Chai is wearing a tine sombrero.  Mom has gotten a little silly with these holiday themes, if you ask us.  It can only get worse from here, we fear.

Chai here: Do you see this ornament?  I really like it.  I mean I like  it a LOT.  Mommy kept saying "No, no no no" and all every time I wanted to appreciate it and enjoy it.  I don't understand.  It even had a jingle bell!  Mom says they are just for looking at.  Well, that is no fun at all!  Christmas is really silly.

We are going to try and rectify our  lack of posting, but we will have to harass Mom quite a bit to get her to let us near the computer.  She could lend us her ipad.  A swipe with a snooter is just as good as her silly fingers.

See, she got this new quilting software for Christmas and she had been trying to learn how to use it.  She uses lots of words that are unsafe for puppy ears while she is learning, so we keep out of her way when she does that.

She has also been painting the bedroom and the living room.  We helped pick the colors and we think they are great. 

Well, Genny says that it is Dinner O'Clock, so we need to remind Mom about that.  Gotta keep her on track or she is likely to paint something else.

Happy Birthday!

So, it is April Fool's Day, but this is no joke.  Today is my birthday!

One year ago, I looked like this:

I was so very tiny then, but look at me now!  Mommy says that I am a big grrl now.  She misses being able to pick me up for snuggles, but she still loves me all the same.

I am spending my evening celebrating with my birthday friend, Molly.  She is my neighbor who happens to have the same birthday as me!  We love to play and this gives Genny time to spend some one on one time with mommy.  Whatever.

Thanks for sharing my birthday.  I hope that you have some fin today too.

Brrrrrrr

It has been wickedly cold here this winter.  Cold enough to even make a husky mix question being outside.  Chai doesn't seem to mind, however, and she asks to go outside as often as possible.  This makes Mommy worry something fierce, but then even Mommy is getting cabin fever.

What we haven't had is a lot of snow, which is very disappointing.  We both love the snow.  Chai channels her inner husky and does major zoomies in the stuff.  I am more mature about things, but I do like a game of football now and then.

We know that we have not blogged a lot lately.  Mom is very stingy with the ipad even though my nose works it just fine.  We will bug her to do a better job, if anything exciting happens.  Winter can be kind of boring, but we need to keep moving in spite of the bitter cold.

Speaking Squirrel

Hi, everypup!  Guess what?  I am now six months old!  Mom says that I am getting to be a big girl too, 37 pounds.  Maybe someday I will be as big as my big sister, Genny.  Maybe not.  But we sure are having fun.

Genny is showing me all sorts of things.  Like how to swap out bones safely and all of the comfy snoozing spots in the house.  I am going to school again, cuz mom thinks I am so smart.

Now, it's not all roses here.  One day, on the way down the hill to the dog park, my leash snapped in half.  I lost mom for a minute and she was pretty scared.  But I led her to the gate of the park and everything was okay again.  Mom says that I chewed on the leashes while we were in the car.  But I never chew bad things at home.  Whatever happened, we got free replacements from the awesome folks at Lupine.  Mom gets all nervous now, checking the leashes, and even taking them off while we are riding in the car.  Silly mom, I wouldn't chance losing her a second time!

Genny is on mom's side, for some reason.  I think Genny needs more playtime. 

She is also teaching me all about squirrels.  Genny is ever vigilent in watching for squirrels.  She thinks they are up to no good.  They are constantly spying on us from the neighbor's trees.  They aren't even very good at hiding.  Sometimes, they even call us names.  At least I think they do.  If I could only speak squirrel.

Being watchful for squirrels is especially important on walks.  Genny is hyper aware of them while we stroll our neighborhood.  I am looking out for crunchy leaves and sticks.  They can be sneaky too!  Mom's favorite thing to say during walks is "leave it." I don't know why.

Graduation Day!

Hi everypup!  I did it!  I graduated from obedience school!  I have a diploma and everything.  The teacher even gave us treats.  She calls me little squirt cuz. i am cute.  And this is just the beginning.  Teacher says I can comtinue my education and move on to the advanced class.  Advanced!  Me!  I think that means it will be harder, but she says I am smart enough to do it.  Tonight was fun.  We got to go through tunnels for treats and show off what we learned.

We stopped at the treat and toy store on the way home for graduation presents.

Somehow, Genny got one too, even though she graduated a long time ago.  We don't want her to feel left out.

I get a few weeks off until the next class starts.  Gotta keep practicing so I don't fall behind.
