It was right before Christmas. His new parents brought a strange tree into the house and decorated it with sparkly lights. Then more people came. The shy and scared husky dove under the tree to hide. He stayed there all night, peeking out from between the presents. Those shy bright blue eyes looking out and wondering what could possibly be happening. He recovered from that experience and soon learned that the people that came to the house were good people. His mom and dad loved him and were patient. They brought him to school where he could learn new things and meet other dogs and people whom he could trust.
Mom and dad brought him to a magical place called "the park." There he could run free, sniff all of the trees and meet other good dogs.
He had wonderful fur siblings he could play with and hang with. He had good food and a safe place to curl up and relax. He slowly decided that people were not all mean and he would slowly go up to meet them. He would be rewarded with pets and treats.
One day, he did not feel so well. Mom and dad did all that they could, but it was time for this brave boy to go to the Rainbow Bridge. They told him what a good boy he was and how brave he was. They held him and loved him to help him on his way. He is now in a place where there is no fear or pain. He looks over those who loved him.
He was the very best present we could ever receive. He filled our hearts with love and we were honored that he loved and trusted us. His gentle kisses will never be forgotten.
Run free, dear Shiloh
