Hark everypup! Guinness, your weather grrl and garden reporter with a pup-date on the happenings at the Stoutino Inn garden. We have heard from Sir Dunkin about the warm weather we've been experiencing the past few days and we are in for a few more days of high humidity and temps. Now onto the garden report. Lots of leafy greens and lettuce growing here along with something mom calls nasturtiums. Mom & Dad like to come out here and pick their dinner or lunch. The leafy greens are taking their time getting big and we can all look forward to those in the fall.

The heat has affected the garden this year. Our tomato plants are not very tall and there is one lone tomato growing. Mom is very upset by this turn of events, as she needs her daily tomato rations and with the news of tainted tomatoes lately, she looked forward to ours for mashing and freezing for sauces and such. The eggplant and the peppers are not doing any better at all. We've only gotten one tiny eggplant and have one single pepper to count at this time
The one vegetable that is not being effected by the high temperatures is the zucchini plant. We've gotten several very large specimens thus far and have more growing, as seen here.
We also have a resident at the Stoutino Inn gardens - a toad! We have yet to be able to capture this illusive creature on film, but he quite startled dad the other day while he was weeding. We aren't sure how he got into the garden with the rabbit wire fencing, but he is welcome to stay as long as he likes. He can eat the bugs that might eat our treasures. At least the fence is keeping out the rabbits like it is supposed too.
That's all for the garden report today, pups. Tomorrow is supposed to be another scorcher, so stay cool. I'll be on the pomegranate sofa with the cool air box blowing over me - that's weather anyone can handle!
Snoses, Guinness

What a lovely garden!
My tomatoes are disappointing this year, too, but who am I kidding? With all the fog we get in the summer, my tomatoes are always in a sad state. Yet, they are my favorite fruit so I must persevere.
You're all going to have to start pooping in the garden so the tomatoes will grow. That's the only solution.

Steve, that's a great idea, but they've put fencing around it and we cannot get in!
Can you go out there and pick your lunch and dinner, too? YUM, veggies!
Play bows,

Hi-Woo,
Yur garden sure does look good, specially the zukiki, Guinness. It's been hot in PGH, too. The past 2 days we had lots & lots of rain wif thunderboomers (I hate those loud noises!). I got a lot of snoozes in between having the demon youngster, Juni, pestering me. I slam dunked him a few times fur bothering me, tho!
Tell foster-mommy I send her lots of slurpy kissies.

Shame about your toms, mistress had some a few weeks ago that were ok. But we don't have any greens and yours look delicious. I always recommend eating stuff fresh from the garden - especially strawberries.
Snoses to you Guinness
Love Pippa xx
Did you plant any frozen peas? I love frozen peas! Beware of the thunderboomers tonight.
