Silly Mommy

I love my good citizen!

hmmm, maybe we need to start our own charity calendar. We can call it "Old Broads Paws for a Cause."

Interesting happenings from back home

This was seen in the newspaper and it's from where mommy grew up:
Elderly women pose nearly nude for charity calendar. The 2008 calendars will be sold in local stores and on Monongahela's Web site, http://www.cityofmonongahela.com, for $10 a piece.

One proud mommy!

Shiloh is too shy to woof his own howl, but this is one proud mommy! My shy boy, who when he first came to us was terrified of any new person, esp men, passed his Canine Good Citizen test today! He did so very well, even tho I could tell he was nervous. Obedience school has helped him come out of his shell so very much and he loves going there to work and mooch treats from the others doggy ma's and paw's.

One of his school buddies, Fergus the Irish Wolfhound, was there too and he passed his test as well. Fergus had no nerves tho - he's a therapy doggy, so he's used to being round people. Fergus' sister, Caroline, and our poodle friends, Astrid & Tuesday all passed as well. Our trainer, Kathy Manser, will be so proud of all of us! But not as proud as this mommy!
Guinness is jealous of Shiloh's new bling. But we have to face reality, she's just too leash aggressive to pass this test. She even flunked doggie school, twice, cuz she was sooo worried about protecting Mommy from the other doggies, she couldn't settle down. She does know how to do the commands and she's a very smart girl, but she's also very uptight & protective. Sad, really, considering Guinness was not a rescue dog, but one we raised from a puppy.
You can see here that while she's confused, Guinness has forgiven Shiloh. He's too humble to show off.

Meet n Greet Pt 2

Another full day of meetin n greetin. Misty rested her kisser and came back for more! Everyone who met her fell in love with her today and we feel very confident that she will find a good home in no time! Some of the other doggies were kind of wishing Misty would go home early so they could have a chance too - They all got lots of love, so we're not worried.

Jasper is here, showing his good side and his fancy kerchief.

Here Misty & Jasper are showing off for the great elbow and a treat

This cutie is Baby Bear, who is a husky/collie mix at 8 months old. What a cutie!

By the end of the day all of the pups were worn out! I think Misty wore out her kisser too. Here she is nappin wiff Cody.

Bear & Dawkin were worn out too.

It was a good day all around.

Meet n Greet pt 1

Here's Misty! She went to a MeetnGreet today to show off her stuff so maybe someone will fall in love and giver a fur-ever home. She's a natural at meetin n greetin - she kisses and kisses and kisses!

This beauty is Angel and she is such a sweetie! Can you believe she is 8 yrs old! You'd never know it to meet her.

These two cool dudes are Codey (in black) and Dawkin (in red). They are really nice young dudes. We really hope all goes well for them, esp Dawkin, who's gonna have eye surgery to get rid of his cataracts and let him see again. It hasn't really slowed him down!

There's more meetin n greetin tomorrow, so Misty has to rest up and drink lots of water so her kisser is in good form! Until then, Ha-roo!

The day after

Well, hubby seems to be in pretty good spirits this morning considering. He even let me sleep in and made me breakfast. We had wicked thunderstorms last night - enough to send Misty diving under the bed! She slept there all night, poor thing. I could not sleep for anything until about 2:30 am. It was a beautiful night until the fast moving clouds rolled in. Sometimes the thunder seemed to go on for several minutes. The light show was pretty cool. Last night the breeze even smelled good and reminded me of our camping days and the woods after the rain - all fresh and clean. Maybe that's a sign of good things to come

I am curiously not freaking out. Hubby said he was more worried about my reaction than anything else. I know he'll find something, he always does. He's much to good to pass up.
